Consumers Energy might be a big corporation with its main headquarters in Jackson, but we have offices, service centers and facilities located across the state. Not to mention our employees span the state along with their families, friends and neighbors. Michigan isn’t just where we do business, it’s where we live, work and play. We care about the communities we serve and that includes making sure our customers have safe, affordable housing.

Which is why for the 11th year, we are excited to partner with Habitat for Humanity of Michigan to address housing challenges across the state. Although the name has changed, the goal of the campaign remains; to provide safe and affordable housing for communities statewide.

This year’s “Power of Home” campaign (previously Home Run for Habitat) starts April 1 and runs through July 31 with the goal of raising $300,000.

As part of the Power of Home campaign we have pledged to match $1 for every $2 donated through the fundraiser, up to $100,000.

The fundraising campaign operates through an online platform administered by Habitat for Humanity of Michigan. All funds raised through the campaign, including our matching grant, will remain within the communities where the donations are made. This localization ensures that every dollar contributed goes toward advancing Habitat for Humanity’s vital work in Michigan, focusing on constructing and rehabilitating homes to provide secure and affordable housing solutions.

“Consumers Energy is committed to keeping the lights on for Michigan homes. That starts with helping our customers to live in safe, affordable homes that reduce energy waste and protect the planet,” said Lauren Snyder, vice president of customer experience. “We’re excited to continue our partnership with Habitat Michigan and make an impact in communities we serve.”

In the past 10 years (2013-2023) Power of Home campaigns have successfully raised more than $3 million, which includes $2 million from over 4,900 public donors and $1 million in matching funds from us.
