The PowerMIFleet program requested and was approved for an incredible opportunity from the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC). They were approved to set aside funds that promote equitable access to clean transportation, supporting nonprofits with customer fleets that serve disadvantaged communities across Michigan. As a result, our team was able to help qualified organizations purchase electric fleet vehicles, furthering our commitment to powering Michigan’s electric vehicle (EV) transformation for everyone.

The organizations receiving (or who have already received) an EV through their partnership with PowerMIFleet are:

  • Messiah Baptist Church in Grand Rapids – One Ford e-transit van with wheelchair accessibility and charging station.
  • Greater Grand Rapids NAACP – One Ford e-transit van and charging station.
  • Ionia Dial-A-Ride – Two Ford e-transit vans with wheelchair accessibility and two charging stations.
  • Mass Transportation Authority in Flint – Two Ford e-transit vans with wheelchair accessibility and charging station.
  • Midland Dial-A-Ride – One Ford e-transit van with wheelchair accessibility and charging station.
  • Kids’ Food Basket – One Ford e-transit van and charging station.
  • Hand2Hand – One Ford e-transit van and charging station.
  • Otsego Food Pantry – One Ford e-transit van and charging station.
  • Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency – One Ford e-transit van and two charging stations.

These organizations will be utilizing the e-transit vans for either food transportation/distribution to children in schools, or transportation for disadvantaged community members. This opportunity has allowed the PowerMIFleet team to show the community that we are not just an energy provider but also an energy partner. We are proud to partner with these organizations to provide our communities with clean energy transportation!
